Mark Burnett is planning to visit Martha Stewart in jail next week. Will he arrive bearing gifts? Burnett, the reality-show producer behind "Survivor" and who is working with Martha on a new syndicated daytime show, says he'll bring no holiday goodies, not even extremely tasteful ones. Jail rules state nothing can be brought into prison or passed to prisoners. Burnett got interested in doing a show with Martha after combing through outtakes of the "Martha Stewart Living" TV show and is captivated by her funny and lighthearted side. "I've always been fascinated by her. She turned herself into one of the world's first self-made billionaire women." So will they be talking shop behind bars? Burnett, for his part, says he'll just be jawing about his trip to Madagascar. (Martha is prohibited from talking business behind bars.)
Burnett reported Martha gave him a gift of a short sharp knife before she headed to Alderson, West Viriginia. Burnett joked that he thought it might be something he was supposed to bake into a cake, though Martha explained that it was simply a fruit peeler.
