In an ad industry first, at least in China, Bartle Bogle Hegarty's managing director, Christine Ng, will be featured on a national stamp, issued by the country's postal service, China Post.
Ms. Ng is one of 10 people considered influential entrepreneurs at the Harmonious China 2011 Influential People's Award, which is organized by several Chinese media industry groups. Although media groups might want to win ad industry execs' favor by putting them on stamps, Ms. Ng is in fact the first and only advertising executive to be honored with a stamp. A more typical past recipient is Yuan Longping, an agricultural scientist who developed hybrid rice.
Bartle Bogle Hegarty, based in London, is wondering whether the British Mail might be persuaded to issue a U.K. stamp of agency founder Sir John Hegarty. British stamps tend to feature the Queen's head, so probably not.
