One Ad Student's Ad Portfolio Wants Your, Um, Ad?

Gotta Pay Those Student Loans Somehow

By Published on .

Photogs angling to get their work in front of top ad creatives may want to consider one enterprising student's proposition: Buy up some ad space in his portfolio. (Sigh. When it comes to ad space, nothing's sacred.)

Mike Cessario, 25, who is in his final semester studying to be an art director at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, Calif., is inviting interested parties to bid for the space via eBay. The two highest bidders get full-page ads in his physical book, as well as ad space on his digital online book. Says Cessario, it's a win-win -- he can make a few extra bucks while job hunting, while photographers can get valuable exposure.

"Since I'm getting out of school and applying for jobs, my book will be seen and reviewed by quite a few creative directors and senior creatives at many top agencies all over the country," says Cessario, who has interned at Crispin Porter & Bogusky, in Boulder, Colo.
