New York Post and Boston Metro Get Into Playoff Spirit

By Published on .

To the average consumer, media rivalries are a good bit more boring than city rivalries -- and a lot more boring than sports rivalries. But sometimes the stars align just so -- perhaps thanks to a new astrological system -- giving us a delicious mix of sports, city and media rivalry, providing delight for men, women and children of all ages. Today's example: The New York Post pulls out all the stops for this artist's rendering of the match-up between the New York Jets and the hated (yes, I'm biased) New England Patriots.

Surely, that can't be topped, right? WRONG! While perhaps not as artistically ambitious as the Post cover, Boston's Metro came up with a stinky pun that puts the boot right to Jets head coach Rex Ryan. Winner? Team Patriots. (Which is probably how the game is going to turn out.)
