McDonald's: I'll See Your Urinal and Raise You A Gym

By Published on .

McDonald's thinks a rose by any other name could make the whole neighborhood smell sweeter. Thirty-five years after the introduction of the McDonald's PlayPlace, the fast food chain is welcoming the "R Gym" [we assume the "R" is the slenderized version of "Ronald"] to select, newer branches.

In the McDonald's press release, dietitian Bonnie Modguno said "It's important for kids to eat a well balanced diet but it is equally important for them to play. Now, parents can bring kids to McDonald's to accomplish both."

Meanwhile, an attempt to further improve McDonald's image as a hip, healthy place to hang out has gone awry in the Netherlands. Complaints from men about the mouth-shaped urinals mean the works of art must now be removed.
