So you thought "The Muppets Take Manhattan" was the first time Kermit the Frog worked in advertising? You were WRONG! Andrew Leal at The Technologizer drops some history on us. Apparently Jim Henson did some industrial films for IBM in the late 1960s and used early versions of his creations as the stars. Kermit shows up in one, but I'm really digging this early version of Cookie Monster -- and not only because I had a stuffed Cookie Monster as a child. (Found via MBO.)
In other weird puppet news, someone sent us a link to something called "The Media Show," which uses puppets to teach kids about media literacy. These are probably the only puppets in existence that read Ad Age regularly.
