Saatchi Stockholm Tries Selling Space in 'Away' Emails

By Published on .

According to The Local, Saatchi & Saatchi, Stockholm, has found a way for art director Gustav Egerstedt to generate some revenue even while he's out on parental leave.

"In an attempt to generate some revenue from Egerstedt's extended time away from the office, the agency agreed to sell space on the art director's out-of-office email to the B-Reel production company," according to the site.

The story goes on to explain that while employees can opt out, the agency "is hoping to expand the service by developing a web-based auction site where people could sell space on their out-of-office email to the highest bidder."

I don't want to be that guy, but do people actually open out-of-office emails?
