When the going gets tough, the tough get going ... to Cannes.
Belt tightening or no, newly appointed Procter & Gamble Co. CEO Bob McDonald will be joining Global Brand-Building Officer Marc Pritchard at the International Advertising Festival next week as part of the company's austerity-reduced contingent of 17, down about half from last year. It's Mr. McDonald's second trip after being part of the delegation last year when P&G was advertiser of the year.
Spokeswoman Martha Depenbrock said Mr. McDonald will only be at Cannes for two days. "Just like the rest of our business leaders," she said, "Bob is looking to learn from and be inspired by some of the great creative talent that helps us connect with our consumers."
