Techies Not Pleased With Ask.com Unabomber Spot

Just months after offending the offline world with their resurrection of Orville Redenbacher, Crispin Porter & Bogusky has pissed off some key members of the blogosphere with a new campaign for search engine Ask.com. One execution in particular, a billboard that reads "The Unabomer Hates the Algorithm" has been especially galling to Duncan Riley over at the hugely influential Techcrunch.

He writes: "What in the world is Ask thinking? What sort of warped company uses the name of a terrorist in an effort to increase market share for a search engine?"

I'd take care when opening letters at Crispin these days.
