New York Times April Fool's Joke?

Surely the editors and headline writers at The New York Times are aware of the theoretical headline bandied about by Times detractors should the end of the world ever arrive: "World Ends: Women and Minorities Hit Hardest."

So I'd like to think that some clever headline writer is responsible for this story greeting me at the top of the New York Times page on a Sunday morning:

Poor Nations to Bear Brunt as World Warms

(And spare me the lectures about Global Warming apostacy, I'm just having a laugh.)
