Each Monday, our new top 10 Foursquare "check-in" chart tracks how major brand merchants are faring in the exploding location-based services (LBS) space. As you might expect, national retailers slipped this week -- not only because of reduced foot traffic into big-box stores, but because marketers are generally taking a bit of a breather from big LBS promotions post-Black Friday. On their respective bases, though, retailers Apple, Costco and Home Depot declined the least among our top 10.
The Foursquare user base, meanwhile, remains well-caffeinated -- check-ins at Foursquare champ Starbucks grew 3% week over week -- and seems newly fond of upscale-ish burritos and tacos: Chipotle had the biggest week-over-week surge (up 26%) on its base in our top 10.
