Audi Enters Alternate Reality with "The Art of the Heist"

Published on .

Audi "Stolen"
Following Sharp and Microsoft, among others, Audi is the latest marketer to sponsor a so-called "alternate reality game" or "ARG" -- this time in pursuit of a stolen 2006 A3.

According to the narrative outlined in a TV spot from Audi agency McKinney + Silver and on a page on Audi's official site, the game, dubbed "The Art of the Heist," centers around recovering an A3 that was allegedly stolen from a dealership earlier this year. Viewers who take up the chase are directed to websites such as stolena3.com and lastresortretrieval.com in search of clues. Here's a guide to what's happened so far.
