American Idol rejects have a new forum in which to strut their stuff—no singing voice required. To promote Cingular's new "Cingular Sounds" music platform (which allows the mobile service's users to download musical ringtones and access content from exclusive artists), Atmosphere BBDO launched the "Lip Sync Battle" microsite, where wannabe singers can submit video clips of themselves lip syncing to the song of the month (currently Rianna's "SOS"). Visitors to the video gallery page can watch the amateur performances and rate them as favorably or as harshly as they see fit. Eat your heart out, Simon Cowell.
