The idea of combining two noble recreational pursuits to create something new has been done before – sky-surfing or street luge, anyone? OK, admittedly the results can be mixed, but Japanese sneaker brand Onitsuka Tiger's latest interweb venture definitely makes good.
Strawberry Frog and Dutch agency Woedend have used the magical powers of both collage and user-generated content to create MadeOfJapan.com, the latest installment in StrawberryFrog's initialwork for the brand. The site shows a sneaker made up of an image collage linking to a cornucopia of Japanese-related websites. Scrolling over the shoe, you'll find everything from obscure anime sites to sports commentary to fashion blogs and much more. While there are some repeated links within the collage, they are updated hourly and change depending on which links you've already clicked. It's all easily navigated and even easier to lose an hour exploring all it has to offer.
