For cult client Dr. Martens, San Francisco agency Buder Engel & Friends recently drafted documentary director Doug Pray -- the filmmaker behind the feature docs Scratch and Hype -- to make six short films about Londoners who, like Dr. Martens' tag says, live "Outside of Ordinary." Collectively titled Veer, the series was shot -- via L.A.-based production company Oil Factory -- on Super 16 with subjects that include a motorcycle messenger and a full-time roadie. The series is being promoted with a cinema trailer in the U.K., and will be screened at some festivals, but its primary delivery channel will be the web, on a site designed by Oregon-based interactive agency Summit Projects.
