AT LEAST 11 AGENCIES MAKE FIRST CUT FOR SUBARU REVIEW

SAN FRANCISCO (AdAge.com) -- Almost a dozen agencies have made the initial cut in Subaru of America's review of the creative portion of its $150 million advertising account, executives familiar with the review said.

include the incumbent, Interpublic Group of Cos.' TM Advertising, Dallas, and sibling agencies Martin Agency, Richmond, Va.; Foote Cone & Belding, New York; and Avrett Free & Ginsberg, New York.

Omnicom Group's DDB Worldwide, New York, Element 79 Partners, Chicago, and GSD&M, Austin, Texas; WPP Group's Berlin Cameron/Red Cell, New York; Publicis Groupe's Publicis & Hal Riney, San Francisco, and Bartle Bogle Hegarty, New York; and independent shop Cramer-Krasselt, Chicago, received the RFP as well.

The group was selected following their responses to a request for information, which included a handful of questions on topics such as agency ownership and whether the agency would be willing to open field offices.

Responses to the RFP are due back June 21. A second cut, narrowing the list further to six to eight shops, will be made prior to final presentations scheduled for in mid-July.

AAR Partners, New York, is the consultant conducting the review.
