NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- Nearly a year after Lee Garfinkel exited Omnicom Group's DDB, New York, he has resurfaced in a new global position at Havas' Euro RSCG.
Mr. Garfinkel's title will be chief creative officer-global brands. The agency in a statement noted he'll begin working with Euro RSCG's roster of global clients immediately and will report to Euro Global CEO David Jones.
Prior to joining DDB, Mr. Garfinkel spent time at D'Arcy Worldwide, working on Cadillac, and had an eight-year run at the U.S. operations of Lowe, where he served as the chairman-CEO and chief creative officer. He landed at DDB, New York, in 2004, helping the agency to land the Subaru account, but fast forward five years and he was replaced by former BBDO creative Eric Silver. (Mr. Silver has since left the big agency world in favor of New York-based indie Amalgamated.)
The hire marks another creative change at Havas, which after a lengthy search in November hired Al Kelly as chief creative officer of Euro's New York office.
