NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- Dentsu Holdings USA today named Will Travis CEO of Dentsu America. Mr. Travis joined Dentsu in 2008 as senior VP-business strategy and marketing and helped drive the development of Dentsu's client base.
Mr. Travis said his goal will be to build on the work Tim Andree, president-CEO of Dentsu Holdings USA, has done in establishing Dentsu as an American organization and not merely an off-shoot from its Tokyo headquarters.
"My job is taking that and evolving it even further," Mr. Travis said. "We have never been unbundled so we have this full collective of PR, media, creative and digital. The job now is how do you build and expand on that."
Mr. Travis said he believes he has the right background for driving that expansion in the U.S. "I've been in a position of helping businesses evolve all throughout my career and that's what my skill set is about, this passion for growth and relevancy to the marketplace and that's what my new opportunity is about here with Dentsu," he said. "I also come from a very heavy branding background."
"That's going to be one of our strategies going forward," he said. "Our growth has to be organic and acquired. That's how you catch up to speed with certain areas that you want to invest in, and luckily we have a very broad base already."
Mr. Travis' move was one of many high-level executive shifts Dentsu made today. Mr. Andree, who joined the company in 2006 as CEO and named president-CEO of Dentsu Holdings USA in 2008, will assume chairmanship of Dentsu America. Scott Daly, formerly exec VP-executive media director at Dentsu America, will now head up Dentsu's media group as chief of media managing digital and media growth across Europe and the Americas. And Ric Peralta, president of Attik USA, has been promoted to CEO of Dentsu Attik, a recently established independent subsidiary of Dentsu Holdings USA.
