NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- Greg Bell, co-founder and co-creative director of hot indie shop Venables Bell & Partners, San Francisco, is departing the agency.
Mr. Bell's next career move is unclear but he indicated it may or may not be in the ad agency business. "I wouldn't exactly call it retirement," Mr. Bell said in a statement today. "After eight long years of agency building, it's time to play. Once that's out of my system, I'll be keeping my eye out for something in this industry or a related one."
Mr. Bell, 39, launched the shop in 2001 along with Paul Venables, co-creative director, and Bob Molineaux, agency president.
Venables Bell was named to Ad Age's list of agencies to watch earlier this year for managing to weather the storm with auto and financial-sector clients such as Audi of America and Barclays Bank, while at the same time scooping up coveted brands such as Coca-Cola and Intel.
