Publicis Groupe Wins $80 Million Travelocity Biz

Travel Site Consolidates Ad, Media and Digital Accounts at Holding Company

NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- Travelocity has consolidated its ad, media and digital accounts at Publicis Groupe after a review, according to executives with knowledge of the matter.

Creative, formerly handled by independent agency McKinney, will now be run by Leo Burnett and Razorfish, while media, which was previously run by Omnicom Group's OMD, is now being managed by Zenith. The digital agency, Razorfish, which Publicis Groupe acquired last year, led the review.

The online travel site launched a review in July after seven years with McKinney, the creator of Travelocity's iconic roaming-gnome character.

Travelocity spent $81 million on domestic measured media last year, according to Kantar Media.

An executive with knowledge of the review said the marketer wanted one lead person to run the business and not have to deal with three agency heads.

Travelocity and Zenith could not be immediately reached for comment. McKinney did not take part in the review. Razorfish referred calls to clients.
