ALLTEL TO MOVE $100 MILLION ACCOUNT TO CAMPBELL-EWALD

CHICAGO (AdAge.com) -- Alltel, a telecommunications company, is poised to shift its $100 million account to Interpublic Group of Cos.' Campbell-Ewald, Warren, Mich., from Omnicom Group's DDB Worldwide, Chicago, according to executives familiar with the situation.

after awarding it DDB. Campbell-Ewald was a runner-up in that review.

The latest review was launched in September by Frank O'Mara, executive vice president of marketing of Alltel, who took that post earlier this year. Alltel officials didn't return calls last night seeking comment.

Alltel, based in Little Rock, Ark., spent $96.7 million on measured media in 2003, according to figures from TNS Media Intelligence/CMR.
