NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- American Century Investments has awarded its $20 million advertising account to Omnicom Group’s TBWA/Chiat/Day, New York, following a review.

TBWA beat out WPP Group’s Grey and independent Wieden & Kennedy for the Kansas City, Mo.-based investment manager’s business. American Century also awarded its interactive advertising duties to TBWA’s Tequila, New York, and media responsibilities to Omnicom’s OMD, New York.

Incumbent independent RPA, Santa Monica, Calif., did not defend the account.

American Century, which was founded in 1958, manages about $95 billion in assets. It spent about $23 million on measured media in 2004, according to TNS Media Intelligence.
