NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- Arby's has selected Merkley & Partners, New York, to handle its $15 million account, according to executives close to the marketer.

following a review that included MDC Partners-backed Kirshenbaum Bond & Partners, New York; Interpublic Group of Cos.' Mullen, Wenham, Mass.; and Venables, Bell & Partners, San Francisco, an independent agency.

Agency executives referred calls to the marketer, as did Wanamaker & Associates, Atlanta, the consultant that conducted the pitch.

The Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.-based chain is in the process of repositioning its brand and has hired Siegel & Gale, New York, to conduct market research and make recommendations on the matter. Results of Siegel & Gale's findings will be released to the company's franchisees this fall.

Arby's split with its longtime agency, independent Doner of Southfield, Mich., earlier this year.
