McCann Erickson has named Barbara Yolles exec VP-chief growth officer, North America. The move expands her duties; most recently Ms. Yolles was CMO of McCann Midwest, but she will now oversee all business development for Interpublic Group agency's North America operations.
Ms. Yolles succeeds Mitch Caplan, who exited McCann at the end of April after less than a year in the role. She will report to Lotta Malm Hallqvist, exec VP-global chief growth officer, and to the U.S. McCann Erickson leadership.
"I am thrilled to have Barbara in this role," said Ms. Hallqvist in a statement. "She is widely respected and her breadth of experience on both the agency and client side make her the ideal candidate for this role. She understands how to build the right team to develop the solutions that will transform clients' brands and grow their businesses."
While Interpublic CEO Michael Roth did not provide much detail on McCann during holding company's recent earnings call, he did say that Interpublic's largest and most embattled agency reported positive growth during the first quarter.
The pressure is now on Ms. Yolles to accelerate the momentum and help reel in new clients. She joined McCann in May 2010 as CMO of McCann Midwest as part of an effort to grow and diversify the agency's roster.
Prior to joining McCann, she was exec VP-group account director at MDC Partners' Kirshenbaum Bond Senecal & Partners, leading the Vanguard and TJX/HomeGoods accounts. Before KBS&P, Ms. Yolles was exec VP-group account director at independent Doner Advertising, where she managed accounts such as Six Flags, LensCrafters, PNC and PetSmart.
