News of the shift comes after BBDO's Omnicom Group sibling TracyLocke yesterday told AdAge.com that the marketer and agency were ending a decade-long relationship due to a compensation dispute.
Harrah's did not return calls seeking comment.
BBDO is already on Harrah's roster, having earlier this year picked up some creative duties, said Peter Sherman, managing director, BBDO West. The shift of business, which includes local advertising and retail activation, will take place following a 90-day transition period.
Another Omnicom sibling, PHD, handles certain media duties for the Harrah's brand, Mr. Sherman said.
Harrah's, which is owned by affiliates of private-equity firms TPG Capital and Apollo Global Management, devoted nearly $70 million in domestic measured media in 2007 to the Harrah's brand of casino hotels, according to TNS Media Intelligence. Other hotel brands under the company umbrella include Caesars, Horseshoe and Bally's.
