Saatchi & Saatchi New York's managing director Brent Smart has been named CEO of the office.
The post was held by Durk Barnhill, who became CEO of the Publicis Groupe-owned shop in August 2012, when he replaced Mary Baglivo -- an appointment that was the first change at the top for the office since 2004.
Mr. Barnhill will stay on at Saatchi, moving into the business-development director role for the agency's global transformation team. Mr. Barnhill will now be responsible for building digital capacity in the Saatchi & Saatchi network and identifying areas for growth.
Mr. Smart and Mr. Dunhill will both report to Kevin Roberts, the agency's worldwide CEO. "Brent has a record as an outstanding agency leader, a strategic and eloquent contributor in our boardroom, and a fearless producer of work that is equally creative and commercial," said Mr. Roberts in a statement.
Mr. Smart came to Saatchi in late 2011, and oversaw the global General Mills business. Prior to that, he spent seven years with BBDO, as Colenso BBDO's managing director in New Zealand, then transferring stateside to head up BBDO's West Coast operations as managing director of BBDO, San Francisco.
