"Burger King and McCann-Erickson have mutually agreed to phase out our relationship," Richard Taylor, Burger King vice president of global advertising and promotion, said in a statement.
Last month the chain dubbed promotions shop DraftWorldwide as the main Interpublic liaison, and has now expanded the shop's promotional fiefdom around the world.
The company is finalizing contracts with Weber Shandwick to handle global public relations and Octagon to handle sports marketing. Campbell Mithun will continue as the kids advertising agency.
Without naming a successor, Burger King said the move comes as it establishes a new creative structure.
"Burger King may discuss additional creative assignments with other Interpublic agencies from time to time as part of a new structure where a variety of creative resources will be called upon," the statement continued. "We believe this new approach to handling creative assignments will best serve our needs."
