Interpublic Group of Cos.' Carmichael Lynch has picked up the estimated $8 million to $10 million accout for spirits marketer Brown-Forman's California Wines division. The division's wine brands include Fetzer Vineyards, Bonterra, Mariah, Sonoma-Cutrer and Jekel Vineyards.
The division's previous agency was Omnicom Group's DDB Worldwide, San Francisco. Carmichael Lynch has created work for Brown-Forman's Bolla Wines of Italy.
Media spending figures per TNS Media Intelligence/CMR were incomplete for the Brown-Forman wines, except for Fetzer, whose spending was defined at $2 million for 2002 and $296,000 for the first eight months of the year.
In a separate action, Trinchero Family Estates' Sutter Home Winery named Dentsu's Colby & Partners, Santa Monica, Calif., as its agency for media buying. The account, along with creative, has been done in-house.
Sutter Home spent $2 million on advertising in 2002, according to CMR. For the first eight months of 2003, spending was $739,000.
