NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- Aegis Group's Carat North America has won Bank One Corp.'s media buying and planning account, a spokesman for the financial marketer said.

"In terms of media buying and planning, [Carat is] our agency of record," the spokesman said.

Last year, Bank One spent $33 million on measured media, according to Taylor Nelson Sofres' CMR.

accounts had been with Interpublic Group of Cos.' Deutsch until this past April, when Bank One shifted the creative business to Gardner Nelson Project, a small independent New York shop that had handled Wingspan Bank, the marketer's Internet banking service. The service was folded back into Bank One also around April, the spokesman said.

That same month, Carat began working on the business. The relationship forced Carat to drop out of the $160 million Bank of America review.

Bank One's most recent ad campaign featured a tie-in with Home Depot, in which the bank issued Home Depot gift cards to new and existing customers.
