NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- Two incumbents were in final financial negotiations last week with ChevronTexaco Corp. in the review for its estimated $100 million consolidated ad account, said executives familiar with the situation.
WPP Group's Y&R Advertising, San Francisco,
and various offices of Interpublic Group of Cos.' McCann-Erickson Worldwide were roster shops for Chevron.
Cut from the review were Omnicom Group's BBDO Worldwide, Houston, and Cordiant Communications Group's Bates Worldwide.
A spokesman for San Ramon, Calif.-based ChevronTexaco declined to comment. ChevronTexaco was created last October through the merger of Chevron Corp. and Texaco.
