Six Agencies to Advance for El Pollo Loco Account

CHICAGO (AdAge.com) -- Fast-food chicken chain El Pollo Loco, Irvine, Calif., this week will trim contenders for its $7 million general advertising account to six from 14, following one-hour meetings with each shop participating in the account review.

Currently participating in the review are: Los Angeles agencies Cruz/Kravetz: Ideas, the chain's incumbent Hispanic shop; Grey Global Group's Grey Worldwide; Interpublic Group of Cos.' Bozell and Campbell-Ewald West; Wong Doody; Woo Agency; Pearlstein Project; Krueger; and Phelps Group; Irvine, Calif.-based WPP Group's Y&R Cos.; San Francisco shops Kirshenbaum Bond & Partners; Wrecking Ball; and Butler, Shine & Stern; and San Diego-based Bulldog Drummond.
