CLIFF FREEMAN WINS BEN & JERRY'S ACCOUNT

Creative Assignment Is Worth $3 Million

NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- Ben & Jerry's Homemade has awarded its $2 million to $3 million creative account to Cliff Freeman & Partners, New York, executives familiar with the review said.

The ice-cream maker heard pitches from three other finalists, Crispin Porter & Bogusky, Miami, which is partly owned by MDC Communications Corp.; Interpublic Group of Cos.' Bozell, New York; and Fitch Worldwide, Ann Arbor, Mich.

Havas' Black Rocket Euro RSCG, San Francisco, which did project work for Ben & Jerry's, did not make it to the final round of pitches.

Consultant AAR Partners, New York, handled the review.

The South Burlington, Vt.-based ice cream marketer is owned by Unilever.
