COTTON TRADE GROUP NAMES FIVE FINALISTS

New York-Based Ad Agencies Chase $20 Million Account

SAN FRANCISCO (AdAge.com) -- Cotton Inc. has named five agencies as finalists in the review for its $20 million advertising account, according to sources involved in the review.

They are: Omnicom Group's DDB Worldwide;

Publicis Groupe's Fallon and Publicis Worldwide; and Interpublic Group of Cos.' Lowe. All contenders are based in New York. Thirty-year incumbent Ogilvy & Mather, part of WPP Group, was guaranteed a finalist slot.

Consultant Select Resources International, West Hollywood, Calif., is handling the review.

A decision in the review is expected before Thanksgiving.
