NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- The New Yorker Hotel has awarded its advertising account to Cox Advertising, New York, according to the hotelier.

Thomas McCaffrey, director of sales and marketing, said the buduget for the account was less than $20 million and included print, TV and outdoor media.

The independent 16-year-old Cox agency also handles advertising for Finnair, the Finnish National Tourist Office and the Caribbean island of St. Vincent and Grenadines.

The New Yorker, which was the city's largest hotel when it opened in 1930, is located near Madison Square Garden in Midtown.
