Another day, another media agency review. The latest is Mercedes-Benz parent Daimler AG, which is reviewing its business in various international markets, according to people familiar with the matter.
Ebiquity is supporting the search out of Germany. The search covers Daimler in Canada, Australia and New Zealand, according to sources. The company is also in the midst of a review in China.
"We are currently carrying out a pitch in four Mercedes-Benz markets to pool our media activities," said a Daimler spokeswoman. "We will announce the winner of the pitch shortly after completion of the process."
She declined to disclose details about the specific markets and review process.
Europe is not part of this process, according to people familiar wtih the matter. A Publicis media agency team won the business in Europe a couple years ago.
The U.S. business is not likely part of the current review, as Omnicom's PHD, which had been working with Mercedes in the U.S. since 1999, retained its business after a review just last year. The German automotive giant spent $339.8 million on U.S. measured media in 2014, according to Kantar Media.
