Four Agencies Chase Creative and Media Account

DETROIT (AdAge.com) -- Delta Air Lines has narrowed the list of finalists for its creative and media accounts to three groups and one agency, the Atlanta-based airline said today.

media buying arm Mindshare; Omnicom Group's BBDO Worldwide and OMD; and Interpublic Group of Cos.' Lowe Worldwide and Lowe Media are the finalists vying for the $25 million account. WPP's Ogilvy & Mather also made the cut for the creative portion.

The agencies are all in New York.

A Delta spokesman said no timetable was set for selecting a new agency and declined further comment.

Eliminated from the review were incumbent BrightHouse, the Atlanta boutique agency that has handled the creative account for the past year, and Publicis Group's Starcom, which had media planning and buying. Omnicom's TBWA/Chiat/Day, New York, was also eliminated from the creative portion of the review.

Delta is the nation's third-largest carrier.
