DUPONT NARROWS REVIEW TO FIVE AGENCIES

Finalists to Compete in Online Bidding Process

NEW ORLEANS (AdAge.com) -- E.I. du Pont Nemours & Co. has invited five agencies to continue in the next phase of its review for one or more full-service advertising agencies, spokeswoman Julia Saia said.

creative work at the company’s Wilmington, Del., headquarters, Interpublic Group of Cos.’ Foote, Cone & Belding Worldwide and McCann-Erickson Worldwide; WPP Group’s Ogilvy & Mather and Y&R Advertising; and Publicis Groupe’s Saatchi & Saatchi will participate in an online, competitive bidding process.

Executives from DuPont will visit each of the contenders during this part of the phase.

Independent Doner, Southfield, Mich., and Publicis' Fallon Worldwide are no longer competing in the review.

In 2002, DuPont spent $68 million in measured media in the U.S. according to Taylor Nelson Sofres’ CMR.

The review is expected to be completed at the end of the month.
