NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- St. Louis-based brokerage Edward Jones & Co. has named independent Cramer-Krasselt, Chicago, its advertising agency of record, following a review.
C-K beat out creative incumbent Kirshenbaum Bond & Partners, part of MDC Partners, and Interpublic Group of Cos.' TM Advertising in a pitch for the business, which includes creative, media, digital and direct-marketing responsibilities. Most of Edward Jones' media was previously handled by Omnicom Group's Prometheus Media Services.
"As one of the few independent financial firms that has a very different point of view, we were drawn to Cramer-Krasselt's independent spirit, forward thinking and equally different perspective of brand communication," Brad Iversen, Edward Jones' chief marketing officer, said in a statement. "C-K clearly understands our clients and our business," he added.
Edward Jones spent slightly more than $30 million in measured media during 2007, according to TNS Media Intelligence.
C-K last year added the Kentucky Derby, Burlington Coat Factory, TrueCredit and digital duties on Levitra to a stable of brands that already included the likes of Porsche, Corona, Rozerem and Zantac.
