Fallon Wins Boston Market's $30 Million Account

Shop to Handle Creative, Media as Agency of Record

NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- Publicis Groupe's Fallon Worldwide, Minneapolis, has been named creative and media agency of record for Boston Market.

Fallon was awarded the marketing account, estimated to be worth $30 million, after a pitch against several agencies including Omnicom Group's Zimmerman and independent Marc USA. Denver-based agency CCT was the incumbent shop for creative work. Boston Market previously handled media strategy in-house and worked with a number of agencies for media buying.

A key consideration in the agency review was bringing together creative and media duties under a single roof.

A Fallon representative referred calls to Boston Market, which confirmed the account move. "We're thrilled to work with Fallon to position Boston Market in the future," a spokeswoman for the marketer said.

The Golden, Colo.-based fast-casual chain -- known for its rotisserie chicken and homestyle entrees and sides -- operates some 600 company-owned restaurants in 28 states. It has a partnership with H.J. Heinz Co., which manufactures a branded line of frozen entrees and jarred gravies; Boston Market-branded products are available in deli departments at more than 1,000 supermarkets nationwide.

A onetime McDonald's Corp. subsidiary, Boston Market was last year acquired by private equity firm Sun Capital Partners.
