NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- The Internal Revenue Service, Washington, D.C., has awarded its $20 million account to Interpublic Group of Cos.' Foote, Cone & Belding Worldwide, New York, the agency said in a statement.
FCB will be responsible
for multimedia strategic communications and marketing to encourage overall tax compliance and increase electronic filing of returns to meet a 1998 congressional mandate.
The account is renewable up to five years.
FCB bested Grey Global Group's Grey Worldwide, WPP Group's Y&R Advertising, both New York, and Omnicom Group's BBDO Worldwide, Atlanta.
