This the final extension. Due to many requests, the deadline has been extended to May 15. We will not be accepting any entries after this date For more information about registered for the awards, or for the conference in Portland on July 24th and 25th, at which Dan Wieden will serve as keynote speaker, go here.

——————————————————————————————————————— Advertising Age's 2013 Small Agency Awards is open. Now in its fifth year, the Small Agency Awards recognize the power of being small and independent.

More and more marketers recognize small agencies are not only nimble but often highly creative and innovative. And we think so, too.

Last year's Small Agency of the Year was Baldwin&, while the Campaign of the Year winner was Mono. More about them and all the great shops who took home honors last year can be found here.

Due to several requests for participants, this year's deadline for has been moved one last time to May 15. We will accept entries until the end of the day on the 15th. This is the final deadline and we will NOT be accepting any entries after this date.Register here.

Unlike the big awards shows, the Small Agency contest has always kept entry fees accessible, ranging from $150 to $300. The point is to encourage as much participation as possible as we aim to shine a spotlight on shops whose great work may not surface in bigger awards show that are dominated by bigger agencies.

Who's eligible? Shops with under 150 employees that are independent. That means we accept submissions only from wholly independent shops or agencies that are not majority owned by a holding company or network. (Got a question? Check out this handy-dandy FAQ page.)

As we did last year, we'll award gold and silver in the following categories: Agency of the Year -- Overall; Campaign of the Year -- Overall; Agency of the Year in the three size categories; and Best Agency Culture. We'll also tap five regional winners (Southeast, Southwest, Midwest, West and Northeast) and an international winner.

Entry is open to agencies in three size categories:

  • 1-10 People
  • 11-75 People
  • 76-150 People

As we have been for the past several years, we will also be holding a Small Agency Conference and Awards Show. For 2013, we're westward bound: We have selected Portland, Ore., as our host city.

In the past, we've taken the Small Agency Awards & Conference to New Orleans, Denver and Minneapolis. Again, the final entry deadline is May 15. For complete details and to register, go here.
