Exec Will Continue to Oversee Global Coke Account at McCann

Interpublic's Fitzgerald & Co., part of the McCann Worldgroup, is naming Matt Woehrmann its new CEO.

Mr. Woehrmann, currently exec VP and worldwide account director for Coca-Cola at McCann Worldgroup, will succeed Dave Fitzgerald, who is moving into a chairman role. He'll partner with Chief Creative Officer Noel Cottrell to run Fitzgerald, which is based in Atlanta, and relocate from New York.

But Mr. Woehrmann will continue as McCann's top account executive on Coca-Cola, which is also based in Atlanta. As the top exec on McCann's Coke account, he oversees the agency teams in Atlanta and in 56 markets globally at McCann, Momentum, MRM/McCann and other McCann Worldgroup agencies. Fitzgerald also handles some Coke work, including a holiday ad for Coke brands and Walmart.

"We have amazing people, great clients who love us, real new business momentum and, under Noel's leadership, world-class creative," Mr. Fitzgerald said in a statement. "I am confident that Matt's addition to our team will help lead to the next exciting stage for the agency."

Mr. Woehrmann joined McCann in 2000 on the agency's General Motors business. He was later was named McCann Worldgroup's Mexico-based director of client services, leading accounts such as L'Oréal, GM, Unilever, Microsoft and Cadbury. In 2007, he went to Atlanta to lead the global Coca-Cola business, later moving to New York.

"No one will or can replace Dave, but Matt likewise has a passion for the work we do and comes to the job with a special perspective," said Luca Lindner, President of McCann Worldgroup, in a statement. "I am pleased he will be guiding Fitzgerald & Co's future. He has done a great job leading our expanding Coca-Cola business globally and the move to Atlanta positions him to better manage the global relationship from our hub in Atlanta."
