NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- TJX Cos.' HomeGoods has selected Gotham for its $5 million advertising account following a review.

More than 175 stores
Framingham, Mass.-based HomeGoods, part of the TJX Cos., which also owns T.J. Maxx and Marshalls, is a discount chain of home fashions stores operating more than 175 stores.

"All of the agencies came to us with smart thinking and great ideas. Gotham's work stood out because it was highly original and would help us break through the retail clutter," said Katherine Beede, vice president of marketing.

The business went into review in October. The previous agency, Watertown, Mass., independent Allen & Gerritsen, did not participate.

Pile & Co. in Boston managed the review.
