NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- Heineken has added Strawberry Frog to its global roster of advertising agencies following a competition with Interpublic Group of Cos.’ McCann Erickson, London.
Strawberry Frog is an independent agency with offices in New York and Amsterdam.

Global branding
The New York- and Amsterdam-based independent shop is charged with creating a Heineken global brand campaign due to launch in early 2006.

The appointment does not affect any local agency relationships, according to the brewer. The other agency on the global roster is Publicis Groupe’s Publicis Worldwide, agency for Heineken USA.

Separately, Strawberry Frog was recently assigned Heineken’s UEFA soccer championship sponsorship work.

'Strategic understanding'
“Strawberry Frog demonstrated a thorough strategic understanding of the brand and was amply able to bring that understanding to life in their creative,” said Walter Drenth, global marketing communications manager at Heineken. “We’re looking forward to their fresh insight and ideas and are confident it will be a productive relationship."
