BOSTON (AdAge.com) -- CVS Corp. has selected Interpublic Group of Cos.' Hill, Holliday, Connors, Cosmopulos, Boston, to handle its $35 million media account, according to executives close to the situation.

Hill Holliday, which won CVS' creative and relationship marketing account in June, bested Publicis Groupe's Zenith Media, Grey Global Group's MediaCom, and WPP Group’s Mediaedge:CIA, all New York.

The drug chain marketer and agency could not be reached for comment late today. The consultant, Pile & Co., did not return a telephone call by press time.

Woonsocket, R.I.-based CVS put its account into review after Bates folded its media operations into Optimedia, jointly owned by Cordiant and Publicis.

An announcement is expected later this week.
