IHOP LAUNCHES REVIEW FOR $25 MILLION ACCOUNT

'Limited Number' of Agencies Taking Part in Closed Search

CHICAGO (AdAge.com) -- IHOP Corp. has launched a closed review for its $25 million account with a "limited" number of undisclosed agencies, an IHOP spokesman said.

IHOP agency Heil Brice Retail Advertising, Newport Beach, Calif., resigned the chain's $30 million ad account this month.

In other news, IHOP elevated Julia Stewart, president and chief operating officer to chief executive. She succeeds Richard Herzer, 70, who will continue as chairman of the midscale restaurant chain.

Ms. Stewart, 46, joined IHOP in December 2001. She will focus on developing a strategic growth plan that she will provide more detail for later this year.
