Dentsu-Aegis-owned Isobar has appointed Jean Lin, the former CEO of Isobar Asia Pacific and global chief strategy officer as global CEO, effective immediately.

Mark Cranmer, the former global CEO who has been with the agency for five years, will take on the role of chairman for a few months, and will leave the company at the end of June this year.

Ms. Lin will lead the network from Shanghai. In a statement, Jerry Buhlmann, the CEO of the Dentsu Aegis Network, said her appointment is the "natural next step," and praised her for the "stunning progress" she made in developing Isobar across the Asia Pacific, Taiwan and China regions.

Ms. Lin added: "Under Mark [Cranmer]'s leadership, Isobar's entrepreneurial spirit has helped the business evolve significantly to become a truly global and collaborative digital agency without borders," and said she was "thrilled" to have the opportunity to build on the agency's success.

Ms. Lin, who was named a Woman to Watch in 2009 by Advertising Age China, was the founder of digital marketing agency Wwwins Consulting in 1999 in Taiwan. Aegis acquired that business in 2004, then shifted her to Shanghai to be CEO of Greater China.

Isobar recently was tapped as the digital marketing agency for global product launches and consumer events for Chinese telecom giant Huawei, with the business being led from the shop's Shanghai and Singapore offices.
