Three contenders who received the request for proposals and survived the cut are believed to be AAR Partners, New York and London; Agency Assessments International, London, which is partnered with New York-based Roth Associates; and Select Resources International, Santa Monica, Calif.
All declined comment, as did Jaguar. Jaguar expects to cut the list to two candidates in the next few weeks.
As for the ad agency search, the incumbent agencies, WPP Group's Young & Rubicam, London and Irvine, Calif., and direct-marketing sibling Wunderman, said they will defend the business. Jaguar, which is unprofitable, has said shops not part of WPP will be invited to pitch the accounts. WPP has a longtime relationship with parent Ford.
