Former Facebook exec and White House spokesman Joe Lockhart is returning to WPP's Glover Park Group as a senior adviser, the firm said Friday.
Mr. Lockhart most recently was VP-global communications at Facebook, where he oversaw the company's corporate, policy and international communications team from June 2011 until last fall. He is a founding partner at Glover Park Group, which is known for its work in crisis, public affairs and government affairs. WPP acquired the midsize Washington-based firm five months after Mr. Lockhart left.
Before starting GPG in 2001, Mr. Lockhart served as chief spokesman for President Clinton and the Clinton administration from 1998 through 2000. He was earlier national press secretary for the Clinton-Gore reelection campaign, deputy press secretary for the Dukakis-Bentsen 1988 presidential campaign and, in 1984, assistant press secretary for the Mondale-Ferraro campaign.
Glover Park Group was most recently in the news for its work on behalf of Paula Broadwell after her extramarital affair with CIA Director David Petraeus led to his surprise resignation.
