DETROIT (AdAge.com) -- Kia Motors America today cut its list of semifinalists to four finalists for the creative portion of its $240 million account.
Advancing to the next round are
, Chicago; Omnicom Group's GSD&M
, Austin, Texas; and MDC Partners' Kirshenbaum Bond & Partners, New York. The account's incumbent, David & Goliath, Los Angeles, received an automatic berth in the final round.
A spokesman at the consultant handling the search, Achenbaum Bogda Associates, of Raleigh, N.C., told AdAge.com that the next round consists of creative briefings with the finalists followed by presentations. A timeline hasn't been finalized, he said.
Publicis Groupe's Publicis & Hal Riney, San Francisco, and Kaplan Thaler Group, New York; and Interpublic Group of Cos.' Campbell Mithun, Minneapolis, were cut from the review.
Kia's U.S. headquarters is in Irvine, Calif.
